The newest episode of MOVIOCRITY is here and boy is it a strange one.

This installment in the ongoing YouTube series focuses on Ted V. Mikels’ 1968 cult classic, THE ASTRO-ZOMBIES, starring John Carradine and Tura Satana (FASTER, PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!). The film concerns the disgraced government scientist Dr. DeMarco (Carradine), who has perfected a means in which to transfer one person’s consciousness into a pure, emotionless, thinking machine. Unfortunately, his first test subject was a psychopathic killer, which means there is a rising body count of young women in the suburbs.

The CIA tries to track down DeMarco while the evil Satana gets her broadly stereotypical henchmen in line to make a play for the formula.

Mikels film is a mix of mad scientists, robotic killing machines and secret agent intrigue. It’s a crazy concoction that has stood the test of time.

In this episode however, we also address some of the criticisms that have faced this film and suggest that there might be a more productive and open-minded way to view films of this nature.

You’re not going to want to miss this ep. So, tune in, enjoy and remember… ADVENTURE WITHOUT SHAME!!!
