See DJANGO UNCHAINED in 35MM this weekend at Mall of America in the Twin Cities!

1_24_djangoIf you’re living in the Minneapolis /St. Paul Area, and a film geek…. have I got some special news for you.  The Theatres at Mall of America is having a special presentation of DJANGO UNCHAINED.  What’s so special about it?  Well, it’s being presented on actual 35mm film, the way Quentin Tarantino wants you to see it.  You see, he hates this new digital age.  And quite frankly, so do I.  I hate seeing movies look crystal clear everywhere I go.  Where’s the grain and imperfections of film?  There’s a certain depth that’s missing in all of this new HD clarity.  I hate it!  Maybe that’s why I love Quentin so much.  He embraces the medium of “FILM”.  It’s always special (and in these days, pretty rare) to see a movie projected in 35mm.

But the Theatres at Mall of America managed to get a print.  The only other theater to be doing this is the New Beverly in California, which is owned by Quentin.  And to make things even cooler, the 7 and 10:30pm shows are going to have vintage trailers beforehand, personally hand-picked by Tarantino himself.

Showtimes are (Friday, Jan. 25 – Sunday, Jan. 27) 3:35 p.m., 7 p.m. & 10:25 p.m.

You can get tickets here.

So if you haven’t seen it yet, this would be the perfect way to introduce you to the awesomeness of DJANGO UNCHAINED.  And if you have already seen it, you should probably see it again, because I can’t think of a better way to view this masterpiece.  I’ve seen it 3 times and am ready to see it again!
