Premiering this weekend in front of prints of that TWILIGHT thing is a teaser for a pretty interesting looking film for summer 2013.
NOW YOU SEE ME is a film which has a group of illusionists pulling off a series of bank heists and then showering the suffering audience with the money they steal. The FBI is naturally on the case with two things worrying them the most: 1. Their tricks can’t be explained, meaning they may or may not be the real deal, and 2. They believe the heists is misdirection, hiding something even bigger.
This FBI vs. Occupy Hogwarts film has gathered an impressive cast, including: Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher (glad to be seeing more of her lately), Michael Caine, Melanie Laurent, Elias Koteas and Common. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier (THE INCREDIBLE HULK, CLASH OF THE TITANS).
One possible stumbling block? The IMDB currently lists no fewer than five screenwriters. Yikes.
Still, NOW YOU SEE ME at least looks like an original version of the heist film. We’ll find out for sure on June 7, 2013.
