I’d say that Brett Ratner is the Melba Toast of film directors, but the fact is that I like Melba Toast. Instead, he’s the clear, nondescript plastic packaging Melba Toast comes in. And now Dark Horizons reports that he’s got a new film in the works, HERCULES.
Dwayne Johnson will play the legendary hero, here recast as the seemingly human leader of a group of mercenaries living in a world where the supernatural does not exist. Herc must then defend Mount Olympus from an invading army.
The film is based on the revisionist graphic novel, HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS by Steve Moore. The script is being written by Ryan Condal with revisions by Evan Sipiliotopolous (BATTLE FOR TERRA, LITTLE MERMAID: ARIEL’S BEGINNING).
